2357 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Technology
The 2357 is a complete Electrical Qualification for those who are working in the trade/apprentice who are wanting to become a qualified electrician.
These are the three stages to becoming qualified:-
1. Knowledge Units
2. Performance Unit – NVQ
3. Independent Assessment Unit – AM2
This course can be started at any time and we work at your pace and circumstances.
The way the course will work is part distance learning and part class taught with tutor support throughout. We send out modules to be worked through and completed at home and returned.
We offer training days which support your learning modules. Also practical practice and assessment. These are included and recommended to help with progression on the course.
This is the price for the entire 2357, Level 3 & the NVQ. This also includes the Regs & Initial Verification Qualification 2391:50.
Performance Unit – NVQ
This is the work based part of the NVQ where a portfolio of a variety of electrical work is compiled.
This unit can be part of the 2357 or if you already hold a level 3 qualification, it can taken alone.
NVQ with bridging unit (to join the 2365 or 2330) is £1600.00
How it works
You will be provided with a portfolio to work through and produce evidence covering all the different units.
You will be allocated an assessor who will be your contact for your NVQ.
The assessor will need to come and visit you at your work place.
Once stage 1 and stage 2 have been completed there is a final assessment to be taken.
Independent Assessment Unit – AM2
This unit is Electro-technical Occupational Competance (AM2)
The AM2 must be entered when you are ready. This is normally with the agreement of your employer and NVQ assessor.
It is the final unit to be taken in the 2357 qualification.
It has to be taken at one of the nationally accredited AM2 centres.
The AM2 is nationally set at £710.
Thompson Training offers refresher and top up days from £125.
The course is completed in stages, it can be run together dependent upon the learners circumstances.
The course is recommended for apprentices or those in the trade who are looking to gain a recognised qualification.
How does it work?
You will be assigned an assessor.
You will be given modules to work through. When you complete one module it will be marked then the next module will be given to you.
What about exams?
When these are required you let us know and we will arrange a mutually conveinient time to take them.
What about assignments?
The open book assignments can be taken at home and then forwarded to us for marking.
What about practicals?
The course does have practical elements. These will be on set days which you will be invited to attend, held at our centre in Bury St Edmunds.
