Please note that this qualfication will not make you a qualified electrician.  Once you have completed Level 3 you will be at an improver/electricians mate level.

In order to fully qualify as an Electrician you must complete the 2357 Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Technology.

2365-02 Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installation (Buildings and Structures)

The 2356 02 is designed for those with little or no electrical experience/qualifications.

This Level 2 certificate will suit you if you want to learn the basics of electrotechnical principles and practice to help start off your career

The course will take you through the foundation of becoming an electrician and progression onto L3.

The units at Level 2 can be broken down as follows :

The guided learning hours are only for guidance for the classroom taught option.  Obviously these units can be done quicker than this depending on the pace, motivation, and level of learning of each candidate doing the distance learning option.

Exams/Assessments

For each unit there is a certain amount of tasks which need to be completed.

These tasks are either Practical Assessments, Written Exams or Online Multi choice exams.

The exams/assessments at Level 2 can be broken down as follows:

The above tasks must also be completed if you are starting straight onto level 3.

*common tasks only need to be taken once

TOTAL tasks at Level 2 = 14

TOTAL hours for exams/assessments at Level 2 = 23 hours

The course runs both Distance Learning and class tuition.

The course can be started and completed at each individuals pace (allow 1 year).

2365-03 Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installations (Buildings and Structures)

This is a level 3 qualification, which works in the same way as the level 2.

Prerequisites

To take this qualification you are required to have completed 2365 Level 2 or its equivalent.

If starting straight on to Level 3 without doing Level 2 UNITS 201/501 must also be taken.

The exams/assessments at Level 3 can be broken down as follows:

TOTAL hours for exams/assessments at Level 3 = 14 (not including un-timed assignments)

How It Works

You will be assigned an assessor.

You will be given modules to work through. When you complete one module it will be marked then the next module will be given to you.

What about exams?

When these are required you will contact us and, we will arrange a mutually conveinient place and time to take this.

What about assignments?

The open book assignments can be taken at home and then forwarded to us for marking.

What about Practicals?

The course does have practical elements. You need to arrange with your assessor to take what ever practicals are required at one of our assessment centres.

Summer School

We also provide an intense week of training, practice and exam taking. This is usualy in the summer and can be from Suffolk, Essex or London area.

Progression

This course will allow candidates to progress onto the following qualifications :

Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Services

Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations

Level 3 Award in the Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations
